CASE STUDY:
Navistar

To assist companies in achieving their sustainability goals, the William-Thomas Group goes above and beyond to develop and implement a total waste management plan, even as far as having onsite waste managers. That is the case for Texas-based Navistar.

THE CHALLENGE
An environmentally-responsible company, Navistar partnered with WTG several years ago to increase its recycling capabilities at its Garland, Texas, plant where it assembles more than 115 heavy duty trucks each day.
“We are good at building trucks,” said Inh Hua, Navistar’s facility environmental and energy manager. “Our expertise isn’t in recycling.”

THE RESULTS & THE IMPACT
Over the course of their partnership, the William-Thomas Group increased Navistar’s recycling from 80 percent to 100 percent. The plant is now zero-landfill, with all waste materials being recovered and recycled. To assist the plant with its sustainability goals, the William-Thomas Group handles all the rental equipment, labor and onsite management of the Navistar recycling program.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
The William-Thomas Group has the know-how to develop efficient and economical waste solutions. In addition to increasing recycling and decreasing packaging waste, Navistar saw a decrease in production costs.
